Before you claim a deduction, you can go to IRS Publication 529 Miscellaneous Deductions to see if you're eligible to claim it.

To claim a deduction in the TaxAct^® program:

1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Federal).
2. Click the Itemized or Standard Deductions dropdown, then click the appropriate topic.
3. Continue with the interview process to enter your information.
