To indicate in the TaxAct^® program that a dependent is a resident of Canada or Mexico:

1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Federal.
2. Click Basic Information in the Federal Quick Q&A Topics menu to expand, then click Dependents and other qualifying persons.
3. Click Review next to each dependent that is a resident of Canada or Mexico.
4. Select "Resident of Canada or Mexico" from the Dependent Citizenship drop-down.
