To indicate in the TaxAct® program that a dependent is a resident of Canada or Mexico:

1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then select Federal.
2. Click Basic Informationhttps://in the Federal Quick Q&A Topics menu to expand the category and then click Dependents and other qualifying persons
3. Click Review next to each dependent that is a resident of Canada or Mexico
4. Select "Resident of Canada or Mexico" from the Citizenship drop down menu
