Although Texas allows businesses to use many of the same forms year to year, the TaxAct program does not support or allow business customers to use a different year’s product for the filing of another year’s report. A 2020 Federal return is needed to complete a 2021 Texas Franchise Tax Report. The 2021 report actually uses 2020 Federal numbers, but is labeled "2021" because it is filed during the 2021 calendar year.
