Although Texas allows businesses to use many of the same forms year to year, the TaxAct program does not support or allow business customers to use a different year’s product for the filing of another year’s report. A 2017 Federal return is needed to complete a 2018 Texas Franchise Tax Report. The 2018 report actually uses 2017 Federal numbers, but is labeled 2018 because it is filed during the 2018 calendar year.
