There is a checkbox for "Check here if these entries are for a mutual fund or other regulated investment company" on Form 1099-INT.  Follow the instructions below to check or uncheck the box in the TaxAct program.

Access your Form 1099-INT and check or uncheck the box:

1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Federal).
2. Click the Investment Income dropdown, click Interest income (Form 1099-INT), click Edit to edit your form (desktop program: click Review instead of Edit), then click Quick Entry.
3. Scroll down to the Foreign Tax Credit Information section, and click the checkbox next to 26 Check here if these entries are for a mutual fund or other regulated investment company to check or uncheck the box.  Click Save & Close.
