TaxACT® Price Lock Guarantee

For TaxACT Online (Over the Web) Users

Price Lock Guarantee

TaxACT Online Deluxe, TaxACT Online State and TaxACT Online Ultimate Bundle include the TaxACT Price Lock Guarantee. Users of these products are guaranteed the product price advertised in the offer through which they fully registered (started your federal return), regardless of when they print or e-file their return.

If the Consumer finds that the price of TaxACT Online Deluxe, State and/or Ultimate Bundle when he/she prints or e-files is more than the price advertised in the offer through which he/she registered, the Consumer is eligible for reimbursement equal to the difference between the two prices.

This guarantee is limited to the Consumer's personal tax return and does not apply if he/she uses TaxACT to prepare returns for persons or entities other than him/herself.

If you believe you are entitled to the reimbursement described herein, you must provide written notice to 2nd Story Software, Inc., within 30 days of printing or e-filing your return(s), at 1425 60th Street NE, Suite 300, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. You must include a copy of the TaxACT advertisement through which you registered, a paper copy of your TaxACT return, confirmation from the IRS that your return was received or e-filed, and any other pertinent data that may be requested in order to determine when you fully registered and when you printed or e-filed.

The user may be asked for the Social Security Number associated with the billing transaction when requesting a refund of services to insure proper identification.

The ultimate responsibility for any tax returns prepared using TaxACT software remains with Consumer. This Guarantee does not apply to, and 2nd Story Software has no responsibility or liability for, Consumer's failure to enter all required information accurately, Consumer's willful or fraudulent omission or inclusion of information on a tax return, Consumer's wrongful classification or description of information on a tax return, or Consumer's failure to file a timely tax return.
