If you don't know the answer to the security questions presented during the password reset process, follow these steps:
- Attempt to answer it five times until you get the message that you are temporarily locked out.
- Wait 15 minutes and try again (there are three questions, so you will get a different question the next time you attempt to reset your password if it is within 60 minutes).
- You must provide the security answer exactly as it was entered when you created the account. (Example: if you spell out "Street" in your answer, the abbreviation "St" will not be accepted.)
- Double check that you're using the correct username. Mistyping usernames is a common mistake.
Note. Per TaxAct strict security protocols, TaxAct support representatives do not and cannot have access to your security question answers or password, nor do they have access to reset your password.
