Filing a Return Electronically

To file a return electronically:

  1. From within your TaxAct® return (Online or Desktop), click on the Filing tab. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then choose Filing. 
  2. Click E-File Return
  3. Complete the the electronic filing steps by following the onscreen instructions

    Be sure you complete all of the steps in the electronic filing process. Your electronic return has not been filed until you click the Submit button.

    Note: After you have submitted your return, please allow at least 2 hours before checking your e-file status. It is your responsibility to verify the return is accepted by the IRS or state agency.
