Prepaid E-Filing - Practice ID and EFIN Verification

Preparers who use the Prepaid Electronic Filing option must be affiliated with a Practice ID that has purchased pre-paid electronic filing (Practice ID is entered in the Prep Info). When filing returns, the preparer will need to supply an EFIN and PTIN (or SSN if not using a PTIN). 

To enter the verification information for your prepaid efiling:

  1. In the Preparer's Program, choose Preparer from the menu bar
  2. Place your mouse over Master Information and click Preparers
  3. Click on the preparer's name, then click Edit
  4. Click the Electronic Filing Info tab. Make sure to enter your EFIN and PTIN (or SSN if not using a PTIN)- this is for your prepaid filing and to check the status of your client's returns online.

Note: The Practice ID entered must match the Practice ID on the account used to order pre-paid efiling.
