To check if funds have been added to your American Express Serve Card, you can view your balance on your homepage when you log in to American Express Serve account. Balance information is also provided by calling the number on the back of your Card and following the prompts.
If you have not received your refund, you can check for the most current status of your IRS refund using the IRS Where’s My Refund? webpage or by calling the IRS at 800-829-1954 (long hold times are possible). The IRS website is updated once every 24 hours with information on the status of your tax refund. State refund information can be found on the TaxAct E-File and Tax Refund Status webpage.
It will take approximately 24-48 hours for your funds to be available on Serve after your refund has been released by the IRS. American Express does not have information on the status of your refund.
If your refund was less than you expected, it is possible that there was an offset (back taxes, child support, unpaid student loans, etc.) to your refund made by the Department of Treasury. Please contact the Treasury Offset Center at 1-800-304-3107 for more information.
If you've chosen to use the services provided by Republic Bank to cover your TaxAct software fees, your tax refund is first deposited into Republic Bank's banking account. Republic Bank will then deduct their fees and any fees owed to TaxAct, before forwarding the remainder of the disbursement to your Serve Card. You may also check the status of a refund by calling Republic Bank at 1-866-581-1040, or on their website at www.republictaxpayer.com.
