Verification Code - How is It Used?
1

To protect your data, you will be asked to verify your identity with a verification code each time you sign in to your secure TaxAct Account. You may choose to receive this code by email or mobile phone number if you’ve added one to your account. (Standard text message rates apply.)

Hints:

  • Emailed verification codes expire in 2 hours. If your code expires, simply request a new code.

  • If you don't see the email, you may want to check your junk folder.

To avoid entering a code each time you sign in

Simply check the box that says Don't ask again on this computer. Checking this box means you trust that others aren't using the same computer and won't be able to access your information.

Once you check that box, you won't be asked again for a verification code as long as you're using the same computer, same browser, and don’t have cookies disabled.

If you want to keep receiving verification codes, but would like to update your email address, or receive via text, you can add or edit this information in your account.
