To access a current-year return that you created in TaxAct:

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online.
2. Click My Taxes, then click the 2021 Returns dropdown.
3. Your returns are listed starting with the most recently edited return.  Click Open Return next to the return you want to access.

To access a prior year return that you created in TaxAct:

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online.
2. Click My Taxes, then click the 20XX Returns dropdown (XX represents the last two digits of the tax year you are looking for).
3. Click the Actions dropdown, then click Download Desktop Return.
4. The return will be downloaded as a .pdf, and you can open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader or another .pdf reader.  

Note.  TaxAct online only allows downloading returns as far back as 2016, and editing returns as far back as 2020.  If you need access to other returns, go to the IRS Topic No. 156 Copy or Transcript of Your Tax Return – How to Get One webpage.
