While going through the Alerts in the program, if you see the Red Alert Error or Omission: Missing Information, it may relate to entering a donated property item on Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions for an amount greater than $500 and not completing Part I, Line 1, Column G for the Donor's Cost or Adjusted Basis.

If you do not need to enter this amount (i.e. for column (g) if the property was held at least 12 months or are publicly traded securities), then you can ignore the Alert.

Note. The Alert will not prevent electronic filing of the return.
