2013

The maximum amount of wages subject to the social security tax (6.2 percent) for 2013 is $113,700. There is no limit on the amount of wages subject to the Medicare tax (1.45 percent).

2014

The maximum amount of wages subject to the social security tax (6.2 percent) for 2014 is $117,000. There is no limit on the amount of wages subject to the Medicare tax (1.45 percent).

2015

The maximum amount of wages subject to the social security tax (6.2 percent) for 2015 is $118,500. There is no limit on the amount of wages subject to the Medicare tax (1.45 percent).
