If an employer issues two separate Forms W-2 and both contain state information from different states, but only one contains federal information, you are able to combine this information when entering it in the TaxAct® program. This will allow you to still electronically file the return, and ensures that all information is transferred to the return for both Forms W-2.
In this situation, the first 3 screens when entering your W-2 would be completed from the information on the W-2 that contains federal information. The screen titled Wages - W-2 - State Information
would contain the state information from both Forms W-2, with one state entered on each line on the screen.
Alternatively, you can enter two separate W-2s in the TaxAct program, but would then have to paper file the return.
