To indicate in the TaxAct® program that a dependent is a resident of Canada or Mexico:
From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click on the Federal tab. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then select Federal.
Click Basic Information to expand the category and then click Dependents and other qualifying persons
Click Review next to each dependent that is a resident of Canada or Mexico
Select Resident of Canada or Mexico from the Citizenship drop down menu
