Many tax calculations and tax credits are based on the data entered for dependents. Therefore, it is important to accurately enter the dependent information, such as first and last name, social security number, year of birth, relationship, number of months lived with you, etc.
To enter or review your dependents in the TaxACT program:
From within your TaxACT return (Online or Desktop), click on the Federal Q&A tab
Click Basic Information to expand the category and then click Dependents and Other Qualifying Persons
Click Add to create a new copy of the form or click Review to review a form already created
The program will proceed with the interview questions for you to enter or review the appropriate information
