TaxACT Online Accounts
If you use the TaxACT Online program, you can reset your Online account password by clicking on the Forgot your Password link located on the Sign In page. Each username and password combination is specific to a tax year and you must update your account information for each year you wish to access.
You can update your email address in two ways:
- Sign into your Online account and click on My TaxACT in the upper right corner of the screen. You will then click on Update your Account Information and follow the instructions.
- If you are unable to sign into your account, you may follow the links below to update the email address on the account for the tax year indicated:
TaxACT Desktop Accounts
If you use the Desktop version of TaxACT (Free Federal Edition, Deluxe, or Preparer) you may update your email address or password by signing into your account and clicking on the Update Email Address or Update Password from your account options on the left side of the screen. You may sign into your account at:

To obtain the Customer ID and/or reset the Password to your account, you may click the Forgot your Customer ID or Forgot your Password links next to the appropriate field at the page referenced above.
If you have difficulty with the process above or no longer have access to the email address on your account, please contact our Customer Service Department by placing a request through our Customer Service Request Form. We would be glad to update your email address for you.
