TaxAct offers the option to purchase prior year's editions of the TaxAct program. The TaxAct program does not support e-filing of prior year returns, so you will need to print and mail your return if you want to file for a prior year through TaxAct.
Online Products: We offer the online program for the prior tax year. If you want to use a TaxAct program for an earlier year, you need to use a download product. If you want to view your prior tax return, sign in to your TaxAct Account to view returns as far back as 2016. Download Products: We offer the desktop program for prior tax years as far back as 2017. Go to our TaxAct Prior Year Tax Returns webpage, and click Download Products for more information related to prior year download products.
Professional Edition Products: We offer the professional edition program for the prior tax year. If you want to use a TaxAct professional edition program for an earlier year, call (319) 536-3571 to purchase prior tax year programs as far back as 2016.
