The filing deadline for tax year 2010 tax returns is Monday, April 18, 2011, due to observance of the District of Columbia’s Emancipation Day holiday on Friday, April 15th. In 2011, April 16, Emancipation Day, falls on a Saturday, so the holiday will be observed Friday, April 15.
Federal tax returns filed by midnight Monday, April 18, 2011 will be considered timely filed by the IRS. TaxACT will process electronically filed returns through midnight on April 18th.
To verify that your electronic return file was received, please check your e-file status. Be sure to allow ample time for your return to be processed before checking your status.
