To utilize this “Completely Paperless” form of filing, you MUST know your
previous year’s Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or PIN.
The Self Select Pin is an electronic version of your signature. It is a 5 digit number you create using numbers 0 through 9.
NOTE: PIN CANNOT BE ALL ZEROS
After filing you need to keep the PIN Number(s) with a copy of your return that
was filed so that you may file paperless the next tax year.
If you do not have access to your last year’s Adjusted Gross Income OR Prior Year PIN you will have to sign and send in a paper return.
If you fall into any of the categories listed below, you are REQUIRED to send in a paper return and are disqualified from a “Paperless” option of electronic filing.
Note: The following information is specific to our Software within the IRS Tax Laws. Additional scenarios exist but are not supported in TaxACT.
- If the Taxpayer is under 16 and has not filed a return previously.
-

8332 - Release of Exemption/Claim (Releases Right to claim dependent)
8283 – Non Cash Contributions (appraisal section)
