We have two product formats: TaxACT Online (Free Federal, Deluxe, and Business), which is web-based tax preparation, and TaxACT Desktop (Free Federal, Deluxe, Business and Professional), which is downloaded and installed on your computer.

To sign in to either account type, you can simply click on the Sign In button at the top-right of the TaxACT website.

You will then see the sign in screen with two tabs; Online Users and Download/CD Users:

Choose the tab that is appropriate for the version of TaxACT you are using.

The Online Users sign in will request a Username and Password, the Download/CD Users sign in will request a Customer Id and Password.
