Form W-2C - Checkbox Only

If you have received a Form W-2C Corrected Wage and Tax Statement (a corrected W-2 form), you can still electronically file your return. Enter the information from your Form W-2C as a Form W-2 Wage and Tax Statement in the program. There is no requirement to send the W-2C form if you electronically file as the IRS will receive a copy from the employer.

To enter your W-2C information in the TaxAct Online program:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online), click the Tools dropdown, then click Forms Assistant (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Tools).
  2. Click + next to the Documents Received manila folder, then click Form W-2 - Wage and Tax Statement.
  3. Click Form to edit a form already created, then click the checkbox next to Form W-2C, Corrected Wage and Tax Statement.
  4. Enter your information on the form, then click Save & Close.

To enter your W-2C information in the TaxAct Desktop program:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Desktop), click Forms in the options bar to view Forms Explorer (if it is not already visible).
  2. Click the Documents Received dropdown, then click W-2 - Wage and Tax Statement.
  3. Click the checkbox next to Form W-2C, Corrected Wage and Tax Statement.
